Wedding Policy
WEDDINGS AT NPUMC
The Staff of New Palestine United Methodist Church have developed a new wedding and reception policy for our church effective January 2009. In order to find out more information, please contact the church offices at 861-4390 and ask for Tisha. It is advised that you check the church calendar to see if your date is free. *There is a list of unavailable dates below. If you do find your desired date is available, the next step is to fill out the required paperwork and make a $50 deposit to have your date secured and be placed on the church calendar in permanent status. This rule applies to members and non members both. The remaining fees are due 30 days prior to the actual wedding and/or reception. We can accommodate approximately 300 people in our Sanctuary and approximately 500 or more in our Gym. We would love to send you any and all information we have on file. Don't hesitate to let us know how we can make your wedding day special.
Wedding Fees = $350 Member / $500 Non-member
*Members include bride, groom, or parents as professing members on the current church rolls at least 90 days prior to the scheduling of the wedding.
Fee includes:
Use of the church Sanctuary and 2 dressing rooms for up to 5 hours on wedding day ($30 hourly fee thereafter)
Rehearsal and decorating of the church for up to 2 hours any day prior to the wedding, preferably the evening before
A wedding hostess, who's duties include accessing entry to the church for wedding party, guests and staff, guest flow into the Sanctuary, cleaning of used rooms, ready the church for the wedding, ready the church for worship services after the wedding, ready and timing of bridal party to walk down the aisle, and securing of the church after ceremony. This will be the liaison between the church and wedding party.
A sound technician, who duties include running the sound system on NPUMC, making sure bride and groom will be able to be heard throughout the Sanctuary, making sure any music Cd's and/or tapes are played accurately, assist with sound for live singing
Minister Fees = Free will offering for Members / $150 Non-Member
Optional Fees =
Organist $150 / $200 if there is a soloist
Our church organist is available to play at weddings unless there is a scheduling conflict. Her name is Linda Quick, 317-786-6638. We do not permit outside musicians to play our organ or keyboard. A music selection and guide is available.
Wedding Coordinator $250 Member / $350 Non-Member
(Optional: if not hired, these duties need to be assigned to someone else)
Duties Include but are not limited to:
Help wedding hostess prepare church for wedding, assisting rooms with set up, assist bride with any needs, run any errands, receiving and passing out flowers, pinning flowers, receiving and assisting photographer, crowd control and guiding guests after ceremony, assisting in cleaning used rooms, and any other needs that need to be met. This person is basically an assistant to the bride and family to do anything the bride wants them to do or help with. This person also has a vast knowledge of wedding planning experience and will help with any planning and organizing.
Receptions $400 Members / $600 Non-Members
Use of church for up to 5 hours ($50 hourly fee thereafter)
Use of church for up to 2 hours for set up and decorating
Reception Hostess
Kitchen Hostess
Set up and removal of church owned tables and chairs (seating to accommodate approx. 250 people)
Use of Kitchen C and all equipment for 5 hours
Use of Fellowship Hall or Gym
Use of a Sound Technician
Clean up for guests up to 250
Wedding Rehearsal Dinners
For your wedding rehearsal dinner party of less than 75 people, we can accommodate you in various ways. For more than 75 people, please refer to our large event package pricing. You can choose from our Welcome Center, Café and Fellowship Hall for event locations. You will need to know an exact number two weeks prior to the event, and be prepared to pay for that number of people. Pricing is based on a per person dollar amount. No other taxes or hidden fees are charged. White linen
tablecloths are also available for each table at a charge of $8 per table. Otherwise, plastic table cloths and various table decorations will be provided.
