Hello! As we welcome Mary Ann Crisman to our staff, we also welcome her extensive teaching background and experience. Here is an update from her personally on what is happening with the kids of NPUMC:

Children’s Ministry Update

On Sunday, September 11^th, we will be making a few changes to our format during our 9:30 and 10:30 worship times. We are starting with a new curriculum from Group Publishing called “Living Inside Out”, which is a 90 minute large group and small group format for ages 4 through 5^th grade. During the 9:30 worship time, we will have worship & praise music videos that will go along with our lesson for the day, Bible lesson, games and activities. If your child only comes to this session, they will still get a lesson and activities relevant to the lesson.

During the 10:30 worship time, we will all begin in the sanctuary, where we can worship for a few minutes with our families until the Children’s Moment occurs. All of the children are invited to come forward during the service at this time to hear a children’s message before being dismissed to C117 for children’s church. We will begin as a large group in C117 for a video or skit presentation that introduces and/or reinforces our Bible lesson for the day. We will then split into 3 smaller groups (ages 4-6, ages 7-9, and ages 10-12) for more activities, games and prayer time that will be age appropriate for each group. We will then meet back in C117 to wrap things up and issue our faith challenges for the week. This is where you will pick-up your children after church.

Every week you should see a newsletter coming home that highlights what we learned that Sunday and also gives the children ideas for faith challenges to work on for the week.

We are still in need of some extra volunteers to help us with this new programming. It’s fun and easy, with very little preparation on your part and we’re only asking for 1 Sunday per month! Group Publishing does a great job at making their lessons and activities exciting and very easy to follow. Won’t you share your talents with us?
