Purpose: The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
Membership: Any woman may become a member if she chooses to join and commit herself to the purpose of the organization. Membership is for those women who wish to organize for mission by participating through giving, prayer, study, action, or service. Responsibility to: Understand and be supportive of the organization and its PURPOSE. Participate in program activities. Keep informed of the ongoing concerns and programs of United Methodist Women. Study and use resources provided making constructive suggestions and recommendations. Engage in Critical analysis and active listening while remaining open to differing perceptions and diverse views.
The United Methodist Women of New Palestine UMC has four circles and welcomes all women to join the work of mission for women, children and youth.
Creative Adventures Circle meets at 6:45 pm on the first Monday of each month in the church Fellowship Hall. This group of women is creatively exploring different crafts. The money raised from the sale of these crafts is used for mission with women, children and youth.
Seekers Circle meets in individual members homes on the 2nd Monday of each month.
Katherine Circle meets on the 3rd Thursday of the month. They meet in members homes as well as the church. This small group of women is using the annual lesson program book prepared by Women's Division as their study. Circle Chairperson is Justine Handley and can be contacted at 861-9586.
Helping Hands Circle meets every other month. Their usual schedule is to met at a local restaurant for lunch before their meeting. This group of ladies helps by volunteering in mission for UMC Metro Ministries.
